first day of my 6-month germany stay
ok, lots of things to crap/complain about... where shall i start...?
1. i had finally left portugal! things in germany seem so distant, yet so familiar... this morning, when i was travelling to Harburg (where my hostel is), i hopped onto the S-Bahn with ease... and i figured my way around pretty confidently... but hmmm... i think i will still like aveiro more... well, maybe this feeling will go away soon, i hope...
2. had to pay for my excess luggage... must be the retribution for the past (when i managed to avoid paying anything at all) but sigh, this morning was just not meant to be... 55 pounds... 55 freaking pounds!!!! i might as well have taken the lufthansa flight instead, and i will get a return air ticket for only a little more... argh!!!
British Airways: singapore--> portugal (excess: 7kg --- no charges)
Lufthansa: singapore--> portugal (excess: 16kg --- no charges, just stern words for me)
RyanAir: portugal--> germany (excess: 10kg --- 55 freaking pounds!!!)
I AM NEVER TO TAKE RYANAIR AGAIN...unless i don't have any/much luggage...
3. fell sick...again... looks like that 6weeks of exams + followed by 1 week of backpacking + no rest since returning to aveiro 2 days ago + all the hassles of moving and shifting have finally taken its toll on my poor tired body... well, i have 4 days before the start of my classes next monday...
4. paid 50 euros for my prepaid mobile card... so no more recharging of the card for me... enough is enough... hahahah... was on vodafone in portugal (used to be man united's shirt sponsor) and now with O2 (omigod... i am helping to pay for arsenal FC's wage bill now! **grasp**)
5. there are still so many things to do... unpacking of luggage, documentation (lots), shopping for food (i have a whole cupboard to myself!!!!!! average sized), shopping for more food (oops, i almost forgot about the fridge)... tmr is a busy day...
6. i am now living in the stone-age of the world of internet... the house master said that we are allocated 2GB of downloads per month each, and after that, the downloading will no longer be at the broadband speed, but more like dial-up.... for goodness' sake!! dial-up? i have not heard of that term since 5 years ago!! and even thought that my LAN connection speed says 100Mbps, it sure feels like 56kb modem now... the previous tenant must have "exhausted" the 2GB for this month... shucks, now i have to wait till next monday for high-speed connection again...(but if this speed persist, i will have to kick down the door of the house master and demand for an explanation)
7. i will grow fatter... went into the bakery this afternoon and i saw that bread again!! big soft fluffy bread with a layer of melted sugar over it... just when i thought that i will never have the chance to eat that again after my 2-month stay in stuttgart in the summer of 2005... so it's no good, have to watch my diet... =(
8. have to decide (once more) between still mineral water or sparkling mineral water...
9. lastly, no more codfish.....
PS: just when i thought that things will not get worse for me on my first day in germany, guess what, my blogger.com was converted to the german version... arghhhh!!!! luckily i managed to convert it back to english version....
