planning for euro 2008
ok guys, sorrie that i took so long... but exams were killing me... so, after looking through the match schedule + considering the financial aspects + vacation leave restriction, here are some of the proposed matches that we can try applying the tickets for....
let me know soon ok? I will be going to spain this coming sat, so i wont be around for the next 8days... so will appreciate if you can just drop me your suggestions, and we can discuss further...
also, there is a high probability that we wont get the tickets, but well, we never know...
so, let me know of your decision soon... cheers!
OPTION A
Venue: Basel (3 matches: 1 group + 2 quarterfinals)
Date: 15th June (sun) ----> 21st June (sat) = 3 matches in 7 days!!!
Estimated cost: 165 euros (cat C) to 290 euros (cat B)
Advantages:
- All matches in the same city, so no need to travel too much... also, we are in switzerland, so there is the possibility of us doing some travelling within the country (since swiss is pretty small as compared to austria)
- we are catching 2 quarterfinals, so should see some quality football...
- dont have to apply for so many days of leave...
-direct flight to switzerland
Disadvantages:
- switzerland is more expensive (then again, everyone will be inflating their prices, so here shouldnt be too much difference between the 2 countries)
OPTION B
Venue: Vienna (3 matches: 1 group + 2 quarterfinals)
Date: 16th June (mon) ----> 22st June (sun) = 3 matches in 7 days!!!!!
Estimated cost: 165 euros (cat C) to 290 euros (cat B)
Advantage:
- same as OPTION A but no direct flights + austria is bigger so travelling time will be higher
- can see eastern europe chicks....
OPTION C
Venue: Not fixed (3 group matches for one particular team)
Date: Any 9 consecutive days
Cost: 240 euros (only cat B tickets for this option) + 10% service charge
Possible teams: england (but maybe they wont qualify), holland, germany, italy, france, czech rep
Advantages:
-at least we are guranteed of one good team playing possible crappy teams for 3 matches; at least we are sure of avoiding austria and swizz since they will be first seeded for sure... oh also, the view will be better since we can only get the CAT B tickets... sides of the stadium...
-we will hang out with the fans of that particular country... choose czech rep if you wanna meet pretty gals
Disadvantages:
- we will follow them all over the country (either swizz or austria) which can be a nightmare for logistics planning in terms of travel and accommodation
- the country may not even qualify, in that case, we lose our tickets immediately (so choose one that will most definitely qualify)
OPTION D
Similar to option A & B... same venue... only difference is that we substitute the group match for a semi-finals match... Still within a 7-day period...
Cost: Additional 35 euros (cat C) to 100euros (cat B)
Advantage:
oh man, if we somehow manage to get england in the semis, we are rich!!!!! sell the tickets and we can cover more than half of our expenses each....
